January 30, 2016 – SSK Swellendam Silos

Automationworks was contacted by Sentraal Suid Kooperasie Swellendam silos to redo the method of how the silos were being controlled.

Scope of work

We needed to design their control system so that the person running the controls couldn’t mix the different types of products no matter what and at the same time it should be user friendly.

Initial work done

We took out the old plc and then replaced it with a new plc and we redid al of the controls in all of the panels so that fault finding would be easier to do and we put in a Main PLC in the control room and then in every panel there after we put a ET200 rack with digital input and digital output cards to eliminate the loss of communication between the controls and the Main PLC.
