Scope of work
Automation Works was asked to design and implement an offloading system for wines from tankers to 5 x 250 000L Holding tanks.
Design
An effective solution was proposed with the ability to clean the system by means of CIP (Clean in place system), mix proof valves were also implemented to minimize the risk of contamination.
The System was designed to offload tanker at a rate of +/- 100 m3/h
System consists of:
- 5x inoxpa mix proof valves
- 5x Ball Valves
- 8x Butterfly valves
- 7x Pressure Transmitters for tank level indication
- 1x Flow Meter
- 1x SICK Multi i/o Sensor Low Flow Indication
- 1x5.5kw Pump
Installation
The process pipework, mechanical and electrical installation was done by the automation works team
Software HMI Development
The Software was developed using our tried and tested step engine. It was developed in such a way to minimize loses of water and wine when transfers are done.
HMI Developed with the operator in mind providing easy and understandable method of controlling the system
